A bazaar is not as busy as used to be. If somebody in charge of bazaar,
and they make 1 million yen profit, the next year the lady in charge of bazaar has heavy burden. Because that’s Japanese mentality.

If Japanese make 1million yen, then if you don’t make 1 million
and 1 yen…It’s a failure.
That’s Japanese mentality which is good and bad.
In one way it’s good but another way it’s bad.
Irish have two airlines. One is a state company. It belongs to the country.
But there’s another airline called “Ryanair airline.”

No service. Just sit down, put your belt on and go to sleep.

You have to line up at a plane, go on with your bag and get off…but that’s OK. The service on the airlines not that grave, depending.
America has a big sale. Many often, many sales.

Americans have a cellar. They live down there mostly.
They eat down there; the kitchen is down there… It’s not very dark,
it’s very nice. Everybody has a cellar in the house.

The first floor and the second floor may be damaged. But the cellar is
completely safe.

a school teacher. They had six children in six years. They were all in primary school together.
And when the children were going to school, the mother came home at 3:30 with all the children.
Because Irish people, the family is most important than work.
I’m thinking about Japan; teachers never go home until 7 or 8 o’clock p.m.
Irish people enjoy their life. Irish people have no stress! Trains are always late, buses are late... que sera sera.

I lived in the outskirts of Dublin.
I went to the bus stop, the bus stop said “Bus an 8:00,8:20,8:40 and 9:00.
In another words, every 20 minutes there was a bus. So I arrived at 8:10 maybe, and 8:20 - no bus; 8:40-no bus; about 8:30 an old lady came.
And different from Japan, when people an idle the bus stop, they talk,
” How are you today?”, “where are you from?” etc...
For old people the bus is completely free. So, when I got on the bus and paid, the driver looked at me and said “Are you all right?” because it’s free for people over 65.
I am little bit over 65 years old so free.
Anyhow she was waiting for the bus; the bus came close to 9 o’clock. She sat down near the driver and she said,”you should quit! This bus is never on time!” she’s gradually kept attacking to the bus driver.
So, he stopped the bus -- not a bus stop and the side of the road. He said to the lady, “I get my salary to drive the bus. I’m not in charge of complains. If you have complains, please call this number.”
It’s a very interesting country but old people they’re going all over the place free.
They go on the bus to a train station then they get on a train.
For instance, some people go early in the morning on the bus, they go to a train station then they go on a day trip --like from here to Kyoto.
They spent 2 hours in Kyoto then come back—that’s all free!
It’s wonderful!
Because old people who are lively, it’s a great way.
I don’t know how the bus company works because the not on time and most of the people are free.
Very few people pay it on the bus. In Japan, it’s nothing free except air.
Unfortunately, we won’t have any class on next Wednesday because Father Michael will have some meetings.
More...Father's talk...
The best country to live in is America, I think.
For many reasons…America has many nationalities, all kinds of people. So in America – this is my idea – Japanese spend almost all their life in the company until 65. Then they are too old to do anything.
But Americans always have a good valance between work and play.
They always are thinking of how we enjoy our life. But they still study hard then enjoy theirs life. Irish don’t hard work and just enjoy theirs life that’s bad. Japanese work too hard and not enjoy theirs life that’s bad. So Americans seem to find a middle way between working hard, studying hard and enjoying theirs life.
They seem that they are the best, I think.
Anyhow Japan is a good place to live. Japan is a very safe that’s no other country today is safe.
